Commissioner for Human Rights

Professor Irena Lipowicz met with the Academy of the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions 2015, which for the first time in history took place in Warsaw. During a visit paid to the Office of the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Poland the students of the Academy got acquainted with the functioning of the Office of the Human Rights Defender, including the Departments on Preliminary Motion Assessment, National Preventive Mechanism, Equal Treatment and Protection of Persons with Disabilities and Criminal Law.

The Academy will last until the 3^rd July. This year the following institutions organize the event: the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions, ODIHR and the Warsaw University. The aim of the annual meetings is the exchange of experience between the experts dealing with the protection of the human rights in the European countries. The first event of this kind took place last year in Budapest.
