Situation of older people on the labor market in Poland

The Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights hosted the conference "Work Congress. Jobs for seniors? The situation of older people on the labor market in Poland".
The event focused on the situation of older people in the labor market in Poland. In his opening speech, Commissioner Marcin Wiącek pointed out that all citizens have the right to work and the freedom to work. He emphasized the importance of work for older people and the problems they face in the labor market. The issue of age discrimination and the current law, which does not guarantee the right to work for people of retirement age, was also raised. 
Subsequent speeches highlighted the situation of older people in the labor market, demographic change and presented possible solutions. The speakers also discussed age diversity in the workplace, as well as the need for changes in legislation and the welfare system.
